Interact is the youth organization of Rotary for young people aged 12 to 18. Interact Clubs are often run at schools or within communities. The young members work together to raise awareness of social issues, gain experience in humanitarian service, and learn from their Rotary mentors how they can take on leadership roles in the future to contribute to a better world.
To learn more about how Interact Clubs engage, we recommend visiting Interact on Facebook and YouTube.
To find an Interact Club near you, contact a local Rotary Club.
The international Youth Exchange program offers valuable and unforgettable overseas experiences for participants aged 15 to 18. By staying with host families, students learn about the culture of the host country and reflect on their own cultural background. At the same time, they serve as ambassadors for their home country and get to know the international network of Rotary Clubs.
RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, which is Rotary's leadership training program for young people. In seminars, they engage in team activities and other learning exercises, gaining skills that will be valuable in their future careers. A significant focus is placed on community service.
Rotary has been known for decades for its generous scholarships, which support and encourage young, talented individuals in their academic and professional development. Many scholarships are awarded individually by clubs, but Rotary districts (regional organizations comprising several clubs in a given area) also offer various types of scholarship programs.
One special program is the Rotary Peace Fellowships. Each year, dedicated peace fellows study to prepare for careers in international peace services through programs in peace and conflict studies. The scholarships cover all tuition, living expenses, and costs for field research. For more information, visit www.rotary.org/peace-fellowships.
